Well the Weekend of Fire is over for those who had the fortunate opportunity to go. For those of us that didn’t go, I’m sure that your as anxious as I am to hear the stories that will be filtering in of the great times and fellowship that was had by the chileheads that were in attendance… As the info comes in, I’ll try and get as much information posted as my work schedule will allow. All of the stories that I’ve heard so far have all been positive and entertaining.
Congrats DK!!
OH, and don’t forget, the CaJohns open house is today!!!!
Buddah posted the following comment last night on the“Team Taste The Fear” thread.
I feel that it is worthy of it’s own post, as it reflects the true chilehead spirit that we all share.

Sorry Parker I couldn’t finish the duet, but my car started to move again. Only an hour wait before I could go 10 mph. It took me 11 hours to get home. I am pooped. One last note, before I left I got to try 2 new things from Lars of Csigi that were worth mentioning. He has a new spicy pasta sauce and bbq sauce. He served some shredded bbq chicken which I loved and took 1 rigatoni noodle(I can’t eat pasta, so could only have 1) and it was even better. 2 new great products from a winner of a hot sauce company. It is cool when the companies branch off. A birdie told me that some fat kid is going to try his hand at some salsa. If one wants the perfect salsa you got to try Garden Fresh Gourmet Salsa, I botched the name earlier and left off the gourmet part. I told them that I mentioned them and thought their salsa was the best I have ever had and they hooked me up with some chips and salsa for the road. Very cool people in my book.
Another company who did me right because of the compliments I laid on them was Porky’s Gourmet Foods which has an amazing line called Tennessee Whiskey Brand that has bbq, hot sauces, syrups and grilling stuff. I loved the fact that they had a sugar-free product and are making more. They hooked me with a free bottle after I had all ready bought one. I really got in their head and it was fun to talk to them all. Nice people with a passion for their products.
Lastly before I hit the sack and get 4 hours of sleep before work is the great things I hear about Cajohn. He seems to have an impact on a lot of people there, and everyone has something nice to say about the man. My brief conservations with him led me to believe he is having a ball out there being amongst his kind of people. Chilehead through and through. His hot sauces still scare me but I tried everything they put out and was happy I did. Well maybe not the second helping of “Hell No”. That was a mistake.
Thanks Bret for the great weekend, I hope you do it again next year.

Sorry gotta a call and now gotta run. I will check out all your cheeky Met remarks. I am sure if you can google Buddha you can google the history of the Mets. I am no bandwagon jumper, all my teams suck ass. The Mets, the NJ Nets, the Minnesota Vikings and the Phoenix Coyotes. Pathetic, but I am loyal. Later guys.
Hey the Minnesota Vikings are my girl’s Favotite team!
She’ll dig that comment.

The Mets were in the world series the same time I made it to Minnesota for the first and only time back in 2000 to watch my Vikings. Bad karma. Of all teams it was my most hated team the Yankees. Losing to them was tough. My Dad, Brother and Uncle are all Yankee fans, so I dealt with lots of abuse.
I have tickets to opening day this year vs the Vickless Dirty Birds of Atlanta. Then again in KC for the third game a city I have only driven through going across country. Should be fun with the people I will be tailgating with. Parker you must have some taste because it is obvious your gf has some.
The Coyotes, well they suck. I think they should probably just go back to Winnipeg, but with the new arena I doubt that will happen. This team when they were in Winnipeg and now in Phoenix has never and I mean NEVER advanced for the 2nd round of the playoffs, even when they were up 3-1. Hockey is my least favorite sport anyway.
My teams suck, but I am loyal as I said before.
Now let’s talk hot sauce. I just got my shipment from Wes and Tahiti Joe’s. Add that to my 35 bottles of hot sauce I got at JJ’s and the other 15 untried ones in my cupboard, I got some work cut out for me. Especially with the fact I have about 20 in my fridge right now. Whoa is me, where do I start?
You can join Ed and I most everynight, we do a burn, or two.
I got my sauce from Tahiti Joe real fast. Not a lot of heat but a lot of flavor.
Edna Krabappel is a slut ;-)
I have put off Puratory Sauces too long, I think I might dive into them tomorrow with some eggs. Although a little of Wes’ pickle sounds like a nice way to start off my lunch. Then Tahiti Joe’s Garlic Sauce with a burger. At least that is what I am thinking. Things change by the second.
Edna has nice gams. :P
Off to bed…gotta be up in 5 hours. Night folks.
Honey, I’m HOME!!!
Off to bed, gotta get up early for work! Hopefully I’ll get caught up tommorrow sometime! 120 comments? WOW!!
Good morning, Good Night, see you guys tommorrow! Or today? You know what I mean! LOL! 10 hours on the road, I have no idea what day it is! LOL!!
Welcome back DK. So much for having eggs this morning. Too tired and hit the doze button 1 too many times. Yet PB and Banana went down so very nicely. Especially with a lil’ Mango Amore.
Have a great day all.
MAngo Amore for breakfast… mmm mmm good. We ate the two bananas you keft at the booth on Sunday afternoone. Great idea…. recipe will be posted on the site this week (not really a recipe, but since I only have a recipe section, thats where it goes).
DK, glad you made it safely. Was going going to call you tonight. I looked for you at Cajohns before I left yesterday, but you were gone – LOL (must have passed each other – I got lost twice in that place!). The wife and kids were really busting chops so I had to go… sorry I missed saying goodbye.
I know I’m a tad late responding to this thread here. But I’ve only recently started perusing through this site.
Jungle Jim’s was EXCELLENT! I can’t wait until next year! Brett, you did a great job getting all those mid-west chile-heads, and the rest of the chile-heads that drove numerous miles to gather at the Weekend of Fire!
:nerd:, thanks for the kind words!
The video for the Deathmatch has been mailed off to John on DVD. I’m sure that it will be uploaded somewhere for everyone’s viewing pleasure sometime soon.
Later all! -Lars-
Welcome Aboard Lars!
