    Reviewer: Al

There comes a time in every reviewer’s product assessment that he or she gets something that makes them smile. I am not talking about a quick smile, no. I am talking about one of those :out:-eating grins from ear to ear. This Afterburner hot fudge sauce did it for me. I loved this so much, I am a little worried they laced it with an addicting drug that I will need rehab for. The drug is actually sugar, but that is neither here nor there because simply, this stuff rocks.

Crazy Uncle Jester got a bunch of Scovie awards this past year and when I noticed how different all their products were from each other, I knew at some point I wanted to try them. That and the evil Jester on the label. I do hope they read this review, because I am going to be very flattering to their fine product. A product which I am going to prop on a pedestal and call it my favorite new fiery food product of 2009. Do I need to say more than that? Well you know me. :smooch:

    Choc Sundae

I can’t say I tried it too many different ways because as soon as I had it on ice cream, I was in Nirvana. When I added chopped mixed nuts and whipped cream, oh man did it work to perfection. I had an ice cream sundae with Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia, HÄAGEN-Dazs’ butter pecan, and a few other ice cream flavors along the way to finishing the bottle off.

Let me describe the burn to you. As you are enjoying the ice cream, you taste the chocolatey fudgey goodness with the frozen confection and then as soon as it is gone you feel this very deep burn in the back of your throat. It does sting quite a bit, so for you novices out there looking for a slight tingle, this product is not for you. This is a Chilehead burn. Afterburner is the perfect name, because it really burns you “after” you consumed it. The casin in the dairy product works to fight the burn of the hot fudge sauce, and it does a wonderful job as long as you keep eating the ice cream. Which, dear readers is the beauty of the product. You keep eating it because it is so good. At the same time you are stoking the fires, you are also trying to put the fire out. Ingenius and quite evil.

Most hot fudge sauces I have used are thick and gooey, this is more in the lines of chocolate syrup in its application. It pours fast. I warmed it up in the micro and had it straight from the bottle. It really didn’t matter to me, I liked it both ways. I think I got an endorphin rush everytime I had some.

    Choc pancake 2

Just to say I had it with something else, I had it with some pancakes. Eh. Then with pancakes and some of my black cherry preserves. Eh again. The whole time I wanted to have a scoop of eye scream on top. I probably should have had the Afterburner with some strawberries and banana, but why waste it? This is ice cream Chilehead gold. The label is hard to read as with all their products, I think the design needs an overhaul. Especially the evil jester face. He needs to be bigger to scare the kids away because chocolate is music to their ears. This stuff though is music to your endorphins.

:nerd:, you’ve already told me before this review that this may be your product of the year. In hindsight, I may also have to choose something similar as mine…

I tried this at FF and loved it too. My wife made her own and made truffles and turtles and peanut butter cups. They were all great. I never considered habanero and chocolate but it truely is good stuff. At least now she wont have to make her own “hot” chocolate.

Nice review :nerd:. I may have to try this one. Most of the spicy chocolate products I have tried usually aren’t all that hot. If this one is half a hot as you say it is, it should be a winner. :tu:

Nice review, but I’m watching my waist line so I should probably stay away from to many sweets.

Nice review! Since Bill has an Ice Cream dessert after dinner almost every night, this will be one we will try. Hopefully the spicy stands out in it like you said after the ice cream is gone. I look forward to it!

I just noticed last night that I have the remains of a Crazy Uncle Jester’s sauce in my cabinet. Almost gone, just down to that “I don’t wanna finish this” bit :dtu:

I liked that sauce, and this one sounds fantastic, so I will definitely have to pick some up at WoF :woohoo:

      Good review :nerd:!
