A Few Words from a Taste The Fear Member about Jungle Jim’s Weekend of Fire
By admin | August 6, 2007 |
Well the Weekend of Fire is over for those who had the fortunate opportunity to go. For those of us that didn’t go, I’m sure that your as anxious as I am to hear the stories that will be filtering in of the great times and fellowship that was had by the chileheads that were in attendance… As the info comes in, I’ll try and get as much information posted as my work schedule will allow. All of the stories that I’ve heard so far have all been positive and entertaining.
Congrats DK!!
OH, and don’t forget, the CaJohns open house is today!!!!
Buddah posted the following comment last night on the“Team Taste The Fear” thread.
I feel that it is worthy of it’s own post, as it reflects the true chilehead spirit that we all share.

Sorry Parker I couldn’t finish the duet, but my car started to move again. Only an hour wait before I could go 10 mph. It took me 11 hours to get home. I am pooped. One last note, before I left I got to try 2 new things from Lars of Csigi that were worth mentioning. He has a new spicy pasta sauce and bbq sauce. He served some shredded bbq chicken which I loved and took 1 rigatoni noodle(I can’t eat pasta, so could only have 1) and it was even better. 2 new great products from a winner of a hot sauce company. It is cool when the companies branch off. A birdie told me that some fat kid is going to try his hand at some salsa. If one wants the perfect salsa you got to try Garden Fresh Gourmet Salsa, I botched the name earlier and left off the gourmet part. I told them that I mentioned them and thought their salsa was the best I have ever had and they hooked me up with some chips and salsa for the road. Very cool people in my book.
Another company who did me right because of the compliments I laid on them was Porky’s Gourmet Foods which has an amazing line called Tennessee Whiskey Brand that has bbq, hot sauces, syrups and grilling stuff. I loved the fact that they had a sugar-free product and are making more. They hooked me with a free bottle after I had all ready bought one. I really got in their head and it was fun to talk to them all. Nice people with a passion for their products.
Lastly before I hit the sack and get 4 hours of sleep before work is the great things I hear about Cajohn. He seems to have an impact on a lot of people there, and everyone has something nice to say about the man. My brief conservations with him led me to believe he is having a ball out there being amongst his kind of people. Chilehead through and through. His hot sauces still scare me but I tried everything they put out and was happy I did. Well maybe not the second helping of “Hell No”. That was a mistake.
Thanks Bret for the great weekend, I hope you do it again next year.

Morning all, yea, CaJohn is really the anbassador of good will for the ChileHead Community! You wont find a nicer guy or more talented saucemaker out there, I am glad to call him my friend!
…and I cant wait to try them too!
Hell Yea!!!
What more can be said, CaJohn *IS* the leader of all things hot. Never met a more genuine person in such a high position on the totem pole of things. Glad you all had a great time, JJ’s is quite the place for sure, I sure enjoyed my visit there last year.
Thanks Bret, I had a great time and bought a hell of a lot of products including many inside of JJs. I made sure my friend bought some of my favs Droolin Garlic Chili and THT Garlic Lovers over at JJs. He took some pics of all the hot stuff we bought as we spread all the hot stuff across the top of the hotel TV. It made quite a sight.
You did a great job running everything I totally understand why u were so busy so no biggie. I still think you need some shower stalls for the chileheads. Nice to be able to sweat from the hot goodies and then rinse yourself off and come back for another dose.
I enjoyed reporting back so it was my pleasure keeping the unfortunate who couldn’t make it informed. I need a press pass instead of a 2 pass next time. Ha!
Half way home… Great weekend at JJ and bret is a great host. Thanks for everything!

btw, buddah, who are you? where are you from, how old are you? who is your favorite bay watch beauty? you like dark meat or light meat?> ford or chevy?
I am a postal worker born and raised in Long Island, NY, now in Northern VA not too far from DC. I am 41 as of last Thursday. Nobody but Pamela. Dark Meat on chicken, and since I am a leg man I like my legs tan, if you know what I mean. I am just happy to have a car that rides, but since my Dad has something against Fords and I have had 5 used cars all Chrysler products, I will say Chevy. Besides Chevy’s makes good mexican food.
Anything else General?
careful buddah, sounds like he needs a date
Happy belated birfday buddah!
how bout a pre happy bday admin? i turn 32 fri.
thanks for the info buddah. mmmmmmmmmmmm northern VA. finally got smart and crossed the Mason Dixon line into God’s country.

Happy Belated B-day :nerd:!
Happy 12th on Friday Dennis. I sent you 3 pairs of underoo’s as a gift. (they have pokemon on them)
Thanks for the b-day wishes, right back at ya for your Friday 32nd.
I just enjoyed some brats tonight using both the new Cajohn 10 mustard and Lee’s Insane Mustard. Both equally addictive and good. The pretzel test goes to Lee’s though. The perfect pretzel mustard. Cajohn does give a nice heat though that I love when I have 10. If you haven’t tried either, you guys need to put them on your list.
the name buddah comes from……….. ?
Sounds like buddah like his food spicy
b-
did you compete in the deathmatch?
I was always a big guy and kept my head shaved for a while or with marine cuts mostly. I got a nice mat now on my head, but I am ready for another crewcut. Since we had a statue on Long Island of a buddha, my friend said I looked like him one day, and the name took. I just preferred the “ah” version so as not rile the real buddha. Been
for about 25 years now.
do you talk with that funny accent that yankees have? LOL
Prince Siddhartha?
lol
hold on parker, gotta google that one…
too late
maybe we can make a nick name to his nick name? Prince Sidd?
he was a busy guy
I had weightloss surgery(lapband) back in November and have dropped close to 90 pounds. One of the things I can’t do as a result of the surgery is eat fast. Hot food is all good, but have to take it slow. So I couldn’t compete for speed nor amount because I can’t eat too much because of the band.
I did enjoy a deathmatch wing though, and they were damn good. A touch spicier than the Defcon 1. I rubbed my cheeks from the sweat with the back of my hand, and my cheeks lit up like they were in a toaster oven, other than that I could’ve handled it for sure. The lip pain wasn’t not too bad, I tolerated it, but the sweat rolling down my forehead was getting in my eyes. I could see myself flinching and pulling my hands off the table to wipe myself down.
agreed
lol I am a Met fan, so I don’t talk like a Yankee.
I still have a NY accent though.
Happy day of birthing general. Maybe we can all sing happy birthday to you on friday.
oh, now everything come together. you are the guy on that other blog that had the surgery then you came over here where the grass is greeneer. how do you like it? ingore parker, he is a prick. LOL
Well Prince Sid, Which cheeks did you rub? ;-) Aren’t we supposed to rub your tummy?
Shut up Dennis…
