This is Big Dawgs spicier version of their new Bloody Mary Mix. I recently put an order in to try some of their new salsas- Texas Mesquite Black Bean Chipotle salsa & Chunkin’ The Deuce salsa. They are different than their usually smooth salsas having some chunks in them, and that is right up my alley. With that order they gave me some extras, plus 2 new prototypes, one in a 5 oz woozy bottle and the other in a 16 oz jar. The woozy contains Darrell’s new yet to be named Southwest hot sauce, and the 16 oz bell jar is Candy’s Bloody Mary tribute to their friend Tori which you can read about here: ToriDuck Bloody Mary Mix.

I was very excited to get new stuff from Darrell and Candy, but truth be told I just don’t like tomato juice and therefore Bloody Marys. I figured I could bring it with me to the place where my Minnesota Vikings’ Fan Club meets and share it with one of my buds who I know loves Bloody Marys. So last week I brought the bell jar with me and we had the restaurant make him one. I got a shot glass full without any alcohol just so I could get a taste. My friend whispered to me so no one at the restaurant heard, that he thought that this ToriDuck Bloody Mary mix was 10 times better than what the restaurant served. That was good. He shared the drink with his wife and she concluded the same thing.

I do not know if this version was the hot one, but they didn’t complain about it being spicy. Nor did my shot glass full give me any semblance of heat. So they might have sent me the regular Bloody Mary version. For a tomatoey product, I enjoyed the flavor. It very much reminded me of their salsa, and if you like their salsa you will love this mix. I even got a mini-chunk of tomato in my shot. I liked that aspect. I still have a little left over that I think I will give another try during the holidays. I will skip the celery and lime, not sure about the tradition in that. I am not a fan of either garnish. I do like fruit on my foo-foo drinks, but I don’t think that outside of the lime the fruit belongs here.
Candy told me via email that this bloody mary mix was a creation that has taken them forever to come up with. I think they did their friend’s memory proud with this tribute. If you think that because you haven’t seen much of Candy and Darrell, they have been ignoring TTF? That isn’t the case. They have been extremely busy creating, making and selling new products. Just in time for your holiday getogether!

Ooops! We’ll I just received word that the label image that’s posted is a prototype. We’ll try to have the new image added to the post really soon.
OK done! Thanks DK.
As always, Darrell has done a fine job of creating yet another label for a product in the Big Dawg Salsa line-up. I can’t wait to try this mix!
I have a request for Darrell & Candy. The next time you send a drink mix for opinion, please don’t send it to buddah, sent it to a man who can handle a drink stronger than a glass of milk.
Cap’n
I don’t lioke cow urine, I mean milk :fu:
I hate to break this to ya buddah, but I think you’re confused between a dairy cow, and a bull. They are a bit different ya know.
lol…Thanks for the write up :nerd:, we hope to have a little more time around the holidays to catch up with TTF, we stop by everyday just hadn’t had a chance to mingle.
TC…we will take care of you, making more Hot & Spicy today so we will get you out a care package.
Stay Safe and Stay Full!
