Happy Birthday Bihl (aka ATKRider) !
By DK | December 29, 2009 |
I’ve been working on this little project way longer than I originally intended, but I finally got it done for you. A few details about it….. The bottle (actually a gallon jug) was found on my property back when I was clearing the road for the cabin, and the “ingredients” were taken from the road itself as it was cleared. Here’s the list:
Ingredients: Sawdust, Dirt, Pinestraw, Blood, Sweat, Tears, and a touch of Gator Heart
Actually, there’s one more ingredient that didn’t make it onto the label. It was added later after the label was finished, but before the jug was capped and waxed. The very first chain that was run on the Stihl Hot Sawce is in there. I chopped it up with a dremel and added it to the mix.
Here’s a few more pics that I snapped of it. Also, I’m trying to dig up all of the pics from when I was working on the road. I hope to have them uploaded tomorrow. I’ll add a link here once it’s done. I think there’s some videos too.
I’ll get this shipped out to you as soon as I can. It just needs to be packaged up and sent on it’s way. Thanks Bihl, Happy Birthday bro!

*UPDATE*
For those of you that don’t know the whole story behind this post, aside from me wishing Bill a Happy Birthday and giving him a waxed jug of dirt, here’s the short version of the story.
A few months back, I decided that I wanted to build a small hunting cabin on a piece of property that I own. Problem was, there’s no road to get to the location. Well, there used to be, but several years ago the road along with most of the property was planted in pines. Part of the old road was still there, along the back fence line, but the only way to get to it was to drive through my aunt’s yard. So, in order to gain access and save my aunt’s yard, I set about to clear the old road of pines. Problem was, I didn’t own a chainsaw. So set about shopping for a saw and bought one of those little cheap Poulan department store saws and got to work.
Discussion of this little project was made on occasion here on TTF in the NFZ, and the next thing I know, Bill’s sending me a package in the mail. He said that he wanted to help out, but couldn’t make the trip, so he sent me a little something to help out. When the package arrived, turns out it was a Stihl chain saw. We all know about Bill and his mini-bikes, turns out he rebuilds chainsaws too. This thing is one kick ass little saw. Completely rebuilt and customized with my initials and signed by Bill. And written on the bar…… Hot Sawce. Hell, I almost didn’t want to use it! LOL! But the condition was that I use it, and don’t sell it. So, I used it. And I got rid of that other saw.
Well, I haven’t been able to thank Bill beyond just a simple “Thank You”, so I figured that if Bill could send me a bit of his hard work to help me achieve something, the least I could do is send him a bit of my hard work in return. Somehow it still doesn’t seem like enough though.
For now the cabin project is on hold, but thanks to Bill’s help I have the road cut and have access to the property, so I can at least enjoy other activities, such as deer hunting, until I’m able to resume the cabin project.
I know, that wasn’t short. But there’s a lot more to the story than what’s been written. Hopefully everyone enjoyed reading it and can understand the post a little better. Oh, here’s the pics that I promised of the work I did on the road. Still working on uploading the videos, I’ll add them in soon.
Bill, thanks again for everything.

Happy B-day Bill! #1 WooHoo. That’s you
well that’s cool, kinda, I think, well yeah it’s cool.
I can’t wait til he sees this! He ate dinner and hit his spot
. I know he’ll see it in the morning.
DK this is so great! I know all of the work that you did on this project and how much it means to you. It looks awesome!
Happy Birthday Bill!
I just want to see the video review of whoever does the taste test on this one
Hey Bill wake up bro!
Happy Birthday!!
Looks like a great chili mix and pizza topping. The recipes will be endless with this mix, but of course Bill will have to make the difficult decision if he should open the collectible or to keep the seal intact. My opinion is that he should open it up and eat it…
In the main pic, do I see a gorilla in the tree, or is that Bret?
Well-well will ya’ look at that. Hard to believe but I am kinda at a loss for words but I think it is VERY COOL (Hudd you just don’t know the story behind it) and THANK YOU !!! I look forward to seeing it in person-I just hope that with all them ingredients it ain’t trying to grow sometin in there
I’ll pass on the eat it part. All that blood, sweat and tears might actually be pee-
OK, I added a short version of the story to bring Hudd up to speed. There’s also a gallery of pics of the road, saw, the jug before the wax, and a few other things.
I agree, if it’s opened, it needs to be on video!
Welcome to TTF Mark!
You are more than welcome buddy but wouldn’t it have been easier just to buy me a couple beers
What are the odds that jug had some shine in it at one time??
Hey I dont see no snow on them roads
Does it ever snow there??
Changing the subject-company now owns 33 busses. I bet I can get a deal on one
I didn’t think you liked PBR?
About the same chance it has pee in it now.
Nope, you can keep that stuff up north where it belongs!
Hey! A cabin on wheels!
Hint, hint.
Trade you for a saw.
Welcome Aboard Taste The Fear Mark!!
Beers may have been easier, but the jug full of road stuff was dirt cheap!!
Just got done watching the videos with Drew..Bill is..well you know
..Drew was driving along with you DK..but he was trying to run over the trees and speed! He was talking to the screen the whole time.
Nice to see that it started for you every time and is working well. Nice to see the road on video it shows all the work you’ve had to do.
Your thank you almost brought a tear to my eye as well as Drew’s. I can’t wait for Bill to see them in the morning.
Thanks DK and TC
been reading along here for a while but had to comment on this one
I’ll have to upload the video(s) of the 4 wheeler trip from the backside of the property for Drew. I shot it back before I cut the road. Got a little more speed out of the 4 wheeler, until I got into the trees.
Oh, that comment about the tear in your eye, I know, I’ve laughed that hard before too.
Dude in truck ride part 1 did you have to cut ALL THOSE TREES??? Looks like it was like 1000+ and if so you are waayyyyy more commited than me. I woulda begged, borrowed rented or stole some big hackin machine to do it!!!
Nice to see in truck ride part 2 that scratches are just a part of life for a truck.
Truck ride part 3 I woulda spilled my beer way too many times-probably been splashed up on the windshield even-
What, you counted the stumps?
I needed the exercise.
A scratch? Where?!!
Holy crap.
Imagine how bad it woulda been if you actually would have ridden in the truck! Oh, Bill, it’s called a monitor screen, not a windshield.
Man in the limbing and first cut vids that little saw starts right up-sometimes I amaze myself. When I got that saw the piston and cylinder were shot-someone ran straight gas in it. But seeing as that I know how excellent that particular model is it seemed only appropriate to fix it once I knew that you needed a GOOD saw.
Funny in the thank you vid it wouldn’t start, my guess is that you either had it running shortly before and than flooded it or you just plain wern’t farmiliar enough with it yet. Funny they all seem to have their own personality quirks when it comes to starting.
Comeon now it’s still early actually it’s because I’m at work
Don’t ask me how I did that-
If I woulda been in the truck I probably would have busted my lip with the bottle.
Maybe it was camera shy?
Actually, that’s the only time it’s ever taken that many pulls to start. The little beast runs like a champ Bill.
I saw the source code when I fixed it, I don’t want to know!
That’s why I use a sippy cup.
I would bet most folks could count on one hand how many times they cracked one before 10:00 am.
Well I ain’t one of those folks.
OH and HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
I vote that as comment of the year for 2009.
Guess I need to put together a post for New Years, it snuck up on me!
Been thar done that (today as a matter of fact), problum is that I’m ready to hit the sack and it’s only 7:20. Scoot over Bill I’m hitting the couch…
I got some room to share. I git rover to move over.
Woo, been too long since I popped in over here. I missed Bill’s birthday!
Well, happy belated birthday Bill!
