Hudd Shares Some Chilehead Love, And Swaps Some Sauce With Happy Death!

    By DK | December 18, 2009 |

Not that there’s anything wrong with that! :dtu: Without further adieu, herrrrrrrrrre’s Hudd……..

    CB's Sizzle Sauce

    Submitted by Hudd:

Back a few weeks ago, I saw on www.diecastaway.com that one of my fellow Hot Wheelers, Happy Death aka Dan, was into making home made hot sauce. I contacted him about his sauce and we done a little sauce swapping. I sent him a bottle of my Hudd’s Fury Hot Sauce and he sent me CB’s Sizzle Sauce, it’s the one with the waxed cork stopper. The green sauce is CB’s Popping Green, it’s been signed and numbered Proto #1/1. The other is CB’s Tropical Burn. Now being a collector I’m having a hard time opening the waxed bottle and I wasn’t going to open the Proto but I went ahead and opened it.

CB's Popping Green & Tropical Burn

I have no idea what ingredients Dan has used in these sauces. The Popping Green oddly enough, has sort of a sweet pickle smell to it. Nice consistency and a slight burn to the tongue. I’m not sure what it is but I have this thing about green sauces. It tastes good but it’s green.

The Tropical Burn is his “Hot” sauce and it does have plenty of heat to it. It comes on rather quickly right after you taste either the pineapple or mango or both that’s in it. It has pretty much the same consistency as the Popping Green. I’ve got plans on using it on a couple pork chops out on the grill soon. Or if my sister does a ham for Xmas, I’ll try it on that.

I’ve been looking at the Sizzle Sauce in the waxed bottle and it appears to be a bit thinner than the other two. Looks like it has a Tabasco sauce consistency to it. Actually I’m trying to see if I can get the wax/cork out without messing it up so I can cork it back and put it in my collection. Yes! I was successful. The cork is out of the Sizzle Sauce and a mild pepper smell comes out. Nice little burn from the peppers. Not as thin a Tabasco sauce, it’s thinner than the other two, but still has some very finely crushed ingredients and a few seeds scattered about. I’ll have to whip something up later that I can mix this in. This will be good mixed in soups, or… I’ll have to get Betty to fix a pot of soup beans, cornbread and fried taters. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Thanks for the sauces Dan and welcome to Taste the Fear. Any questions just ask. A lot of helpful people here.

    - Hudd

That Sizzle Sauce is lookin’ mighty tasty to me there Xero. I’m a sucker for a bright red hot sauce.! :tu:

But you know, just the mention of Hudd’s Fury Sauce is a bit of a tease ain’t it? I wonder if we could talk Happy Death into sending in a little something to post on it?

Yep, I would love to try their sauces too. Especially the green. Bright red usually means vinegar so it would probably be too much for me. Good review too. :sunshine: And welcome Dan.
