Introducing…The “1st Annual Taste The Fear Secret Santa” Gift Exchange

    By admin | December 6, 2007 |

HO HO HO, ‘Tis the season to be jolly!!!!

    secretsantattf.jpg

The following is copied from an email that our bud Buddah sent out a few nights ago. If you did not receive the email, it was only because Buddah didn’t have you in his address book. EVERYONE is invited to participate in this exchage of gifts even if you did not receive the email. The initial response via email has been fantastic, and this looks to be an exciting start to this 1st annual Secret Santa gift exchange.
We don’t want anyone on the Secret Santa list to be dissapointed and without a gift, so please follow through with the exchange if you commit to do so….OK, I’ll shut up now..Please read on. Thanks!!!

    Hi my fellow Chileheads,

Well I hope this goes out to all of you in time to do this holiday idea I have. You got this email because you have at one time or another had a connection with Taste The Fear, so I wanted to give you a chance to do something special this holiday season. In cooperation with www.tastethefear.com, Tracy Campbell and I are going to run a secret santa for any Chilehead that wants in. There are probably a few people that I left off that I don’t have email addresses for like MSK and Gary just to name two off the top of my head. So if there is someone you would like to add, please forward this email to them.

A secret santa is where people get a person’s name and buy them a gift without the other person knowing who bought them a gift until the day they receive it. In turn, each person will receive a gift from someone else that they won’t know until they receive it as well. All names are choosen randomly and will not be known until the day they are choosen by Tracy and I. We need to get a list of people interested first off. Those that sign up will have to email Tracy their address if he doesn’t have it all ready, so we can give the person who gets you your info. Tracy will post something on Taste the Fear very soon, and this is where we want you to just post your name if you are interested. After a week, both Tracy & I will divide the names up. Without having the other person know, we have devised a plan to randomly slot all the names. The only control we will have over it is to make sure the same person doesn’t get their own name. We want to have you involved in the picking, but that might be difficult to do without giving away identities. Usually secret santas are picked from a hat by each person, but since we can’t do that, we have to look at alternative ways. Once we have all the details worked out, we will then individually email each of you with the person you are to get a gift for. Since Tracy & I will be involved as well, our own picks will be choosen secretly by the other.

We will put a cap of $20 including shipping and handling. Not everyone will have to pay a lot for postage, but someone might live across country and of course the postage will be a lot more. If you decide to spend more than the $20, that is on you, but don’t go overboard to keep the integrity of the secret santa. Also since we are all chileheads, we want to keep the gifts chile oriented. Whether it be a hot sauce book or some homemade food item or a Jalapeno-shaped sombrero, it must be something in that realm. Creativity is up to you.

I hope you all like the idea and want to join in the 1st Annual TTF Secret Santa. Look out for the post in the next few days. Thanks.

    Eternally,
    Buddah

I had an overnight air package from UPS not show up today. The reason I was told, “We’re on a relaxed schedule because of the holidays.”

So while they’re relaxin’, USPS is kicking their :moon: . :D

Canada always had a reputation for being one of the worst postal systems in the world, apart from the shithole countries. They have very much improved over the years, but it is obvious to anyone who deals with them, to and fro, that they take a long time.

The idea is that your heart is in the right place, not when the gift arrives. I am sure the General will be very happy when the gift arrives right before his marathon run. ;)

      :nerd:,

Finally! I will be honest with ya UB, I wanted to tell you there was a chance the package was going to come late, but that would’ve been the Amazon book. I am surprised it was the other way around. Amazon told me it would sent after XMas amd would arrive around Jan 5th. I was disappointed, but I really wanted to get you that book. Like it says it the card, both the mustard and dip have reviews coming shortly. Hopefully Brant finished his end and the dip review is finally ready.

I hope you enjoy the package and the book comes in handy. Before you try the Bernie Bots, you might want to get some advice from Huv. lol Happy New Year Big man!

Your welcome, I was glad you made it easy on me with your jerky fascination. I had to tell AJ not to give you anymore jerky advice until the book arrived. :D For the mustard, find a knish, you will see it works best for that. The dip review is special, so hold out using all of it before reading what we did.

Ok, that’s it, the 2007 sales year is over.
Time to go home and fire up the home theatre (maybe some God of War on the PS2) and have a nice quiet New Year’s Eve.
      Be safe everyone!
