Justin’s Corner- Crazy Jerry’s Mustard Gas…Retro Review
By Buddah | October 21, 2008 |

I love hot mustards, but rarely buy them because they usually are more mild than hot. I just buy regular mustard and mix it with extract sauces either on my food or in the mustard bottle when there is room. When I saw this sauce in the hottest sauces category I had to try it. It is rated at 125,000 scoville units and was fairly hot. The flavor was good also, but it was way too runny. At $8.95 for a 4 ounce bottle it is a bit expensive.

I used this sauce on burgers, bratwurst, in potato salad, on chicken patties, chicken nuggets, and grilled chicken, and it went well with all of them. I dipped the chicken nuggets in the Crazy Jerry’s Mustard Gas, and this was the only meal that I didn’t have it running down my hand. You might not see the sauce in the picture at first glance, because its so dark and its on the tomato. Flavorwise, it tastes like mustard and extract. The extract taste isn’t too strong though so don’t be turned off by that, it is worth trying.
Buying info: The bottle gives no website or phone number, but does say this:
Prepared for Crazy Jerry’s Inc.
P.O. Box 891
Roswell, GA 30077
I did some searching online and came up with their website:
www.crazyjerrysinc.com
Ingredients: distilled vinegar, mustard seed, water, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper extract, turmeric, mustard oil, and natural spices.
Heat: 5/10
Taste: 7/10
Consistence/Thickness: consistence’s good, thickness is about 4/10 because its way too thin to keep on a burger.
Price: too much for too little ($8.98 for 4 oz )
Packaging: 10/10 it comes in an awesome looking metal bottle
Overall: 5/10

Numero Uno!!!
Nice Old Skool review.
How is the heat compared to Cajohns 10 mustard? I had some last night on some pretzels and it was a lot hotter than I remember!
Now that’s some thick mustard~
Is that :nerd:’s mask
And Blane’s gas fog?
i was oogling the Crazy Jerry products at Pepper Palace, but wasn’t sure which to purchase.
It says it’s $7.99 on his site, but it fails to list how much is in a bottle, so I’m not sure if that’s a 4oz or not. It is an awesome bottle (can?) for sure though.
its a 4oz metal bottle. very thin but good.
It’s a so-called bottlecan, and it’s made of aluminum. Doesn’t vinegar react with aluminum? Aren’t you not supposed to cook acid foods in aluminum cookware?
Justin when you’re finished with the mustard you should cut the thing in half and look at the inside… I’m curious if there’s any pitting.
That would be interesting to see. I’ve seen this exact same bottle with some sort of spray in it, but at the moment I can’t remember the product.
I didn’t care for this stuff too much when I tried it, but then again I’m not much of a mustard fan though… I watched Newman (if anyone remembers him from, ahem, that other blog) accidentally snort some when he was trying it. It was so thin, when he cocked his head back to eat the chip it was on, the stuff splashed up his nose. Needless to say, I found the incident incredibly funny, but Newman was not laughing!
I know I’m a little late on this one, but the bottle is most likely the same one we use for the NOS bottles. They have an FDA approved anything-goes coating on the inside and out for use with acidified foods. We’ve had our problems over the years with leaking NOS, but that was due to the stupid caps. We FINALLY found a way to stop the leaking again, so things should be good.
I’ve had a bottle of CJ’s Mustard Gas on my desk that I eat regularly.
Keep in mind guys – It’s a hot sauce made with mustard, not a mustard made with hot sauce. He wanted that consistency, so don’t put it in the wrong category.
I dig it – :DC:
