Mango Amore Habanero Hot Sauce by Fat Kid sauces
By admin | June 19, 2007 |

First things first. I’d like to personally thank Fat Kid Sauces for their generosity in sending me their newest product to sample. Quite frankly, up until I received the Fat Kid Mango Amore Mild and Hot sauces, fruity hot sauces had never really made it to my favorites list. It’s a good thing for me that I’m not afraid of a little change. Here goes…
First Impression: I love a sauce where little bits of the ingredients can be seen suspended in the bottle. Very appealing color as well. Open the cap and, ahhhh… lo and behold, it actually smells like Mango! It’s a Mango sauce that actually smells like it must be packed with Mangos.

It’s time to see what these “Mild” and “Hot” bottles of Mango Amore have to offer on the inside:
The smell of this sauce was a pleasing mix of Mango, which supplied the subtle sweetness, and the Habaneros provided for a nice little nose burn.
This is a thicker sauce, however I had no problem getting it out of the 5oz bottle and onto my first test platform. Viola! A Tostito White Corn Chip with a nice pile of sauce. The first bite was a blast of Mango flavor then a sneaky burn that comes out from behind the Mango. Wow, a really well balanced mix of sweet and heat, exactly like the aroma…The “mild” is more of a medium heat than a mild, and I do believe that the Fat Kid sauce chef will label this one as medium when the sauce is ready for production. My favorite use for this sauce is on chicken tacos and chicken quesadillas…Both heat levels of the Mango Amore are very well suited to chicken dishes, and I also think that the sauce would really show its stuff on fish tacos made with grilled tuna…The Hot version of the Mango Amore has the same great flavor with a heat level that’s bumped up a few notches from it’s milder companion. The HOT is exactly that!
The Fat Kid Mango Amore sauces have enough heat to satisfy the heat seekers, but not overly hot for the less heat tolerant crowd. Above all, the flavor is the real beauty of these sauces. As the label also depicts, my opinion is that the Mango and Habanero have found their destiny together in the Fat Kids line-up of quality sauces, and hopefully on your plate as well. Once these Mango Amore sauces are available to the masses, especially if you have never been impressed with a fruit sauce, my recommendation would be to get a bottle of this, and be prepared to add a new sauce to your favorites list.

Hey Huv, the main thing I was getting at was that the SB may be old news on a T-shirt since your unveiling @ ZF. THAT was an original my friend! LOL!! I was just thinking we need something completely new to represent TTF. There’s a couple of things in the works I think.
