I’m not really big on jalapeno sauces but I enjoy them from time to time and right now they sound good so it’s the perfect time to do this review. The first thing I noticed about the appearance of this sauce is how dark it is. It is green but it’s a lot darker than any other jalapeno sauce I have ever had plus it’s got a black label on it to make it look darker.

I bought some pizza to eat it on today but my favorite use of jalapeno sauces is in quesadillas. I opened the bottle and took a whiff before pouring it and the smell took me completely off guard. The first thing I thought was rubbing alcohol; I took a little deeper sniff of it and got the same thing with jalapenos in the background. I decided to read the ingredients before trying it and I see that it had tequila in it, although that has to be where the alcohol smell is coming from it don’t smell like tequila. I poured some on my pizza and the thickness is perfect. It pours easily, sticks to my food, and gets a perfect score for the consistency. I took a bite and really tried to taste the tequila but all I got was rubbing alcohol and jalapenos again. The jalapeno taste is more of a fresh raw jalapeno and it gets big points there. Most jalapeno sauces taste more like pickled jalapenos just because of the vinegar base. This sauce has vinegar in it but I don’t taste it.

After trying it on quesadillas (a few hours after starting this review) my opinion hasn’t changed. I don’t hate the sauce and I will eventually eat the whole bottle but I can’t recommend it either. If it tasted a little more like tequila than just alcohol, and if it wasn’t so overpowering it would be great.

I love these labels this company uses. Whew! I took the cap off and took a sniff. It has a horseradish type smell to it right off. Nice texture and some pepper seed visible. I dip a Little Smokey into the sauce and bite into it. So once again I find another green hot sauce I just don’t care for. I’m tasting mostly vinegar and some jalapeno flavor comes through. If you’re into green jalapeno sauces this may be for you, but I just don’t see this as being a sauce I would use.

Justin you may want to think twice before eating the whole bottle. I hear that glass is rough on the way out.

I met Dede (I think was her name) with CMPHS last year at ZestFest. Good people. I have always loved the label on this sauce.
