    Mystery of the Deadman’s Chest

    Yesterday in the mail I got a poster tube that contained a rolled up and tied scroll. I unrolled it and on it is printed in an olde English text.

    1st page:

    Deadman’s Chest

    Within this here box ye shall find the envy of every pyrate, fireater, and any other nombre of scoundrels…Many will venture but only one shall possess this one of a kind treasure.

    2nd page:

    Within it’s wooden crate, metal hasps, hinges and corner protectors is secured one bottle of the finest Hot Pepper Sauce the world has ne’er seen. The ingredients contained within this fancy handblown bottle include vinegar, fresh habanero peppers, chipotle peppers (fresh smoked jalapeno), walla walla sweet onions, honey, Pyrat Rum, and hickory smoked sea salt.
    Whom amongst ye shall possess this most desirable of treasures? Time shall tell. I would wager a hefty ransom shall be afforded…

    3rd page-(this one confused me):

    Pyrates collaborating on this conspiracy to raise funds for our shipmate Hudd…
    Samuel, Christina, Zayne, Zackary, Hans (printed, hand signed, and finger prints in actual blood)

    I emailed Sam (Zane & Zack’s)to see what this was about. Comes to find out the scroll got to me before it was supposed to.

    Today, Fed Ex knocked on the door and handed me a big box. I opened it and got the foam peanuts out of the way. Opened a second box and got all the shredded paper out only to find a third box. Pulled it out and opened it up and “WOW” pulled out this awesome 1 of 1 Hot Sauce and display chest. The bottle is marked 1/1 and Sam and his family all signed it.

    Dead Man's Chest

    This thing is outstanding. I love it. Got some old barn wood down stairs I’m going to work with and make a frame to display the scroll/letter in. This will take center spot down stairs once I re-arrange things a bit.

    Oh just about forgot, there was also a Pirates of the Caribbean Ultimate Swashbuckler 10 Song CD. Who knows, I get some Captain Morgan in me and I may sign along to it.

      THAT is one sweet little package! Pyrate theme, hand blown, hot sauce, all the making for one really cool set-up…So, do you open and eat, or plunk onto the shelf? Z&Z makes some fine sauces and it would be very difficult for me to look at that sitting on a shelf without constantly wanting to dig in to sample what’s inside.

      It’s going on a shelf. Got some 150 year old barn wood and I’m going to cut a piece big enough to glue the pages of the scroll to. I’ll hang that right behind the chest. Pics when I get that done.
