Query The Krewe: A Question From A Fellow TTF’er

    By DK | December 12, 2009 |

I received the following question via email from a visitor to TTF today and thought this would be a great question for the readers here to answer as I’m sure there’s plenty more suggestions than I alone could provide.

    ghostpepper

Message from a Taste The Fear visitor:

Subject: TTF: Jolokia peppers (ghost peppers)

Where can I get these peppers? Where are they sold, I’m from Bakersfield California and would like either grown my own or at very least purchase the peppers themselves.

    - Rene

Rene, welcome to Taste The Fear, and thank you for your question! I’m sure someone here will get you on the right track in no time at all! :tu:

Hi and Welcome Rene! We have been growing Jolokias in our home garden for a couple of years now. You can purchase plants from a few online sites..we have been using our own seeds from our own crops.
Really not hard to grow..especially where your at nice temps all the time..we’re in Indiana so we have a short growing season..especially this year with such a cold summer.
I have not seen anyone who is selling the fresh peppers at least around here..you can buy dried online..but if you really want to grow your own I would suggest buying plants next spring from a nursery..they can be expensive..but the plants yield a lot of fruit and you can save the seeds for the next season.
Hope I was some help to you! :D
