    Secret Santa and the Christmas Booty

    Let’s take a moment to reflect back on the 1st annual Taste The Fear Secret Santa gift exchange.

    I wish to thank all of you who participated, and by now, I really hope that all commitments of giving have been fulfilled. If you sent a gift to someone, and have not received one in return, then please email Buddah or myself and we will find out just exactly what the hold up may be.
    Since the completion of this 1st annual event, I have received some very good feedback on how this exchange went, and many great suggestions have been made in order for next years Secret Santa to be even bigger and better…Thanks Again!!

    My SS was Hudd, and he hit a homer with my gift!! I also gained another Hot Wheels Collector buddy through this exchange. I’ve been a HW collector since childhood, and during the SS exchange, we figured out that we have more in common than just Chilehead stuff. HOT WHEELS!!!

    Here’s what the note in the pic says:
    “I didn’t have any styrofoam peanuts, so I used real ones. (shoot, you can eat ‘em if you want!) I don’t know if you smoke, but if you do, here’s a nice stogey for you…Merry Christmas! “

    Here’s the list:

    * Jar of Hudd’s homemade salsa that contains the following peppers: Jolokias, Trinidad Scorpion, Fatalii’s, and Orange Habs. Hudd grew the Habs, and the rest of the peppers are from Jim Campbell’s “Open Fields”….AWESOME STUFF!!!!!!
    * A bottle of Blair’s Possible Side Effects
    * A Rocky Patel smoke
    * Edible packing peanuts

    I found a Huge box that weighed 9 lbs at my door one Friday evening.
    A nice chip/dip serving set, autographed Hell No, Hell Yeah, and a cool Xmas tree ornament. The culprit who sent this was chilewilly.

      The homemade salsa from Hudd kicked butt! Very strong/pleasant flavor that reminds me of the taste of Fatalii Fire.
      Heat is a creeper, then it grabs and twists the heat sensors, and even continues building for a short period after I’ve finished eating. It’s great stuff, and fun to eat.

      The sauces from Parker are nearly gone. The Tahiti Joe is an awesome sauce! It’s got a lot of chunks in it, makes it quite appetizing to just eat with a spoon all by itself.

      The shirt fits perfectly, and the shorts, well, they fit great but let’s just say that there won’t be any pics other than the ones above! LOL!!

      I’m still trying to figure out what to do with the stickers. No Blane, I won’t send ‘em to you! :lol:

      I hope everybody, well most of our group had a good experience and will be back to do this thang again next year. I am anxious to hear some of the ideas TC has for next year. The one change I would like to see is to get an earlier jump on things. Getting UB, gave me little to no time to get him a gift to arrive before the new year. We would also benefit from experience and some of the great gift ideas people had. Hey I am ready to do it again now. :dtu:

      one online hotwheel site i belong to also does a birthday club. same thing as ss but just send to someone on their bday. one lady takes care of it and notifies the sender who to send to and when. it went pretty well.

      i finaly got my order from swweatnspice that i placed shortly after i got my ss name in the mail, i know its the holidays and all but it took about a month to recieve this order. i did get my ss box all packed up and ready to be shipped first thing on monday though with most of my favorits in it i feel bad about the wait though. i have a question for everyone, one of the sauces i ordered for myself was a bottle of hazmat and i have had it before and it was bright red sauce, well the bottle of hazmat i received was a dark brown. theres no exp date on it but i think it went bad, i ordered it in a 4 pack with 3 of his other sauces i have never had and im not sure about if i should eat any of them.

      Sounds like you got an old stock bottle from what you’re saying about the change in color. Looking at my bottle on the shelf it’s a nice reddish color. Whether it’s actually bad or not, you may want to email Jim about it and ask his opinion. I know he made a comment recently over on CaJohn’s Flavor & Fire blog about shelf life.

      Me, if it’s just a color difference and the sauce has a high concentration of vinegar, I’m gonna eat it. I’ve had brown Tabasco before with no problems. But that’s not an educted answer. just a dumbass redneck that’ll eat almost anything that has no visible mold on it. :bubbah:

      I received a care package yesterday and with a crowd of 8 teenagers hoovering over my package, we cracked open 3 of the many hot sauces that my SS Justin sent me! The Iguana mean green was a favorite with only a little left in the jar today…The Blizean Heat was stolen by one of the teens… no one will confess.
      Will have to have another round of sauces tonight!
      I still would love to have a sample of Justin’s homemade salsa???
