Taste The Fear Takes a Peek Into the Soda World
By admin | September 19, 2007 |
About a year ago while searching the internet for strange and unusual items, I stumbled across a different looking soda bottle that immediately caught my attention. The bottle had really cool looking pirate graphics with comical names.

At first glance the labels reminded me of the label graphics on the Pure Poision, and Toxic Waste hot sauce bottles by Poision Pepper Company. As I dug a bit deeper into the company who produced these Pirate themed soda bottles, Skeleteens, I began to realize that like the hot sauce bottle collectors, that there is another group of fanatics who collect soda bottles. I know of people who collect the old soda bottles as I have quite a few of these myself, but what suprised me was the fact that there is a particular group of enthusiasts that are much like chileheads in the sense that they seem really passionate about their soda pop collecting. A soda counter culture if you will.
They collect, consume, and write reviews about soda, much like chileheads do with their hot sauces.
BevNET Review: Brainwash
(Admins note: This review is a few years old.)
Brain Wash is perhaps one of the most exotic of the Skeleteens beverages, and definitely the one with greatest amount of food coloring. It contains numerous herbs, several types of ginseng, and an interesting kick of jalepeno pepper. Probably due to the jalepeno, the taste is similar to The Drink.

Brain Wash is a bright blue color, which will temporarily dye anything it comes in contact with. It is also rumored to dye the drinker’s feces and urine, but that failed to occur for this drinker. Despite its novelty, it can’t really be considered a superior beverage, because it’s spiciness makes it difficult for the average system to tolerate. On an interesting side note, however, a bit of hard liquor mixed into Brain Wash will combat the burning sensation and go down smooth. End..
Is it soda, or is it pop? I guess if you get involved with these soda folks you’ll have to figure that one out for yourself. Reminds me of the age old debate of, is it chilehead, or is it chilihead?
Taste The Fear will be publishing more on the topic of soda bottle collecting complete with pics that were sent in by one of our members, and we have a rather entertaining review for you to see very soon as well, so Stay Tuned!

Speaking of changing the end product a different color. Because I don’t drink sodas or really anything with sugar, I drink a lot of sugar-free, splenda-enhanced products instead. Koolaid has such a product, and after you have had a few glasses, you will find green instead of brown in a certain place.

Soda Bottle collectors??? – FREAKS – LOL
Hey John will there be any Fat Kid Pop in the near future?
How is the salsa going btw?
Soda bottles. Interesting. Me and Jamie was just taliking about soda bottles yesterday morning. More along the lines of limited edition stuff from the big boys like Coke and Pepsi. The one that got us going n it was a picture we stumbled across of an old Sundrop Dale Earnhardt bottle. Rookie year. Jamie has one among his odd’s and end stuff. So we went looking for a value. We found some interesting info on soda bottles.

ever have a black cherry slush from icee (sold at some burger kings)?
no on the anthrax & to the slushies. I am off to KC for the big Blane Bowl against the Vikings. Justin since u probably don’t know, Blane and Parker have a bet. The loser has to do the other’s yardwork in a dress. Parker has the Vikings and Blane has the Chiefs. Poor Blane.
poor blane you’re right.
better pop by walmart and pick up a tent. dont think they make a size xxxl dress.
good thing bout yard work in cali, yards are about 500 sq ft. should be a quick clean up. on the other hand if blane wins, i betcha blanes yard is the size of rhode island so parker you better bring some gatorade.
BURP
