The “No Fear Zone”… August 2009
By DK | August 1, 2009 |
Welcome to the August edition of the NO FEAR ZONE!!
Each and every month, Taste The Fear provides for all of those who wish to participate, a place to hang out and comment on “almost” anything that they wish to talk about. The “NFZ” is the off-topic area, however many interesting topics usually seem to come about from all of the madness.
Warning: Remember the NFZ code of conduct! Mind yer manners ’round the ladies, and remember that the Cap’n (Bones that is) has all rights to delete, edit, and/or ban anyone who doesn’t have the same opinion as I…Ye be Warned!!!

1 day down, 2 more years to go!
Only one class today, but it was 4 hours of only one class. AC/DC Circuits. Probably my toughest single course this semester. My head hurts already.
Can’t wait until tomorrow, 4 classes that run from 8:30 am til 6:00 pm. It’s gonna be a looooong day. At least there will be some variety.
Ethan, Sandi, TC,
…. thanks.
Hey anyone know anything about Cape Fears Dam “a” Gotcha grilling sauce?? Just got a big bottle and was thinking that this might be the place to ask.
Oh and Blane if you see this just as soon as my Paypal account gets back working I will send you money. I tried twice the other day and it has some sort of internal error-that or maybe I forgot to put any funds in it. No really it is on the fritz.

whats the site to change your gravitar?
DK, classes will boggle your mind at first but after a couple weeks it’ll all come around to you. When I went back a couple years ago my first impression was what the heck am I doing here. Just hang in there and you’ll do alright.
DK I hope at least the classes keep your mind going. Tomorrow sounds like a LONG day! How many days a week are you going? You’ll do fine! Sorry about Bill’s BURP:lol:
BTW..have you gotten my emails?
Sandi, my mind hasn’t stopped since I walked into that classroom yesterday. Sleep was hard to come by the night before and last night, but as soon as I’m settled in as Hudd said, I’m sure things will be fine.
Hey, at least I know that those brain cells still work after all these years!
I guess they’re just grumpy after being rousted from their nap.
And yes, I’m sure I’ve gotten your emails among others I haven’t replied to. Been busy the past couple of days, but I should get to them this evening or tomorrow.
Gotta go, the
just pulled up.
So, when do you start building robots DK? I need one to do laundry. And mow the grass. And clip the dogs’ nails, because they are a pain!
Also, one that follows me around with an assortment of hot sauce might be nice. That way I never have to go without…
Maybe you can build one to help you out on the go-carts. A blocker or something
I wonder of they would let you have that on the course?
I like robots. I wish I had some.
Ethan, I’ll have to build two. One for me, one for you. Let’s keep the go-cart one a secret though. Maybe I’ll let you use it this year if I have to sit out a round again.

The robot in the video is surprisingly similar to what I’ll be working with in class. The course is geared more towards robotics used in automated manufacturing, although the field is much more broad.
Yep, I like robots too.
I know, I’m not in class. The instructor just did an introduction and cut us lose. Full day next week. First two classes are back to back, same instructor, so he covered ‘em both. I gotta go back at 5 for my English class though.
Hey Ethan, how’s this for starters? Not quite folding laundry, but ……

I am having second thoughts about going to Texas for Zestfest.

:dork: ‘s
Wow, the NFZ went from the 27th to the 4th without a post… It’s quiet around here!
How’s it hanging, Huv?
Busy as heck, but that;s good in this day and age. How about you?
Just waiting for 4pm to roll around so I can get the :bleep: out of here! Loooonnngggg weekend!!!!!!!
Good Morning Huv!
Long weekend here too. Took today off to go on a job interview. Off Sat, Sun, and Mon for the holiday weekend. And then for some reason we don’t have to work Tuesday. They’re cutting us back to 32 hours a week and trying to work our butts off during those hours.Hope my interview leads to a new job!
Good Morning Ethan!
No school on Fridays, so it’s an extra long weekend here. Lots of homework though, and a test next week to study for.
Kinda peaceful huh?
Like Huv, I’ve been busy and haven’t had a lot of time to pop in. School has been kicking my
for sure. Haven’t had time to do anything much around here myself except eat, sleep,
and, study.
Got some stuff in the works to post soon though, I did put up a new video that Justin submitted the other day. Gotta get the new NFZ posted soon too. Look for it tomorrow or Sunday.
Ok, I’m off to hit the trails. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!
Good Morning Hudd!
SUNDAY!!? That’s it buckO, no pay raise for you anywhere in the near future!
Hello DK. and anyone else that sees this out there in TTF land.
Yo Ho!!
I figured out what Parker has been doing lately!!

I broke my tailbone when I was a kid jumping on one of those things. I guess the correct way to put it would be when I was falling on one of those.
I came down on a piece of ice and the stick went straight out from under me and I landed flat on my :moon:.
Was out of school for two weeks. It was all I could do to walk from my bedroom to the
for those two weeks. That’s the biggest hurt I’ve ever felt. Caught myself grimacing just watching that video. Ouch.
Well it’s been awhile, but how’s everyone doing?
If there are any TTF’ers or lurkers in my neck of the woods, we are BBQing on Monday @ Lake Sammamish State Park, Issaquah, WA. 3ish-whenever! BYOB (oh yes drinking is allowed in the park) and one side dish please. I will be Qing one beef brisket one pork butt and several beer can chickens. Invite as many friends as you like. If ya can’t make it, will miss ya, beleive that!
Sounds great Sam, but unfortunately I can’t bring a side dish so I guess I’m out.
Beware of Bigfoot!
