The “No Fear Zone”… September 2010
By admin | September 1, 2010 |
Welcome to the September 2010 edition of the NO FEAR ZONE!!

Each and every month, Taste The Fear provides for all of those who wish to participate, a place to hang out and comment on “almost” anything that they wish to talk about. The “NFZ” is the off-topic area, however many interesting topics usually seem to come about from all of the madness.
So please, follow the TTF code of conduct and enjoy! ARRRRRRRR!

Tastes like dark meat chicken.
Best way to eat tree rat is to make dumplings. Mmmm, squirrel dumplings. Delicious.
Not really enough meat on a squirrel to make jerky with. It would be more like the stuff at the bottom of a bag of beef jerky. Just a bunch of little pieces.
You guys are weird. We feed the squirrels up here.
Plump ‘em up first do ya? Sweet.
Taste like chicken? DK have ya ever thought that maybe chicken taste like squirrel?
Classic! I remember as a kid listening to Ray on 8 track tapes in the car. Ohhhh and Jerry Clower..It’s a Southern thang…
Happy first day of fall.
It was in the lo 90′s here….

10.33 inches of rain fell here yesterday. HELP!
It’s the most rainfall for a day since ’99 during hurricane Floyd, when we received over 13 inches in 1 day. We’re expecting over 6 more inches before thursday…
I hope my nuts like it! The plants are looking good, so I hope the nuts are healthy and happy….
Sounds like your nuts are gonna be floatin’ around near your eyeballs.
Had 3 inches of rain here yesterday. Only rained for half the day. Constant downpour from around 8 am until shortly after lunch time. I had classes, so my nuts stayed nice and dry indoors all morning.
You guys crack me up! LMAO My plants are looking really good. Can’t wait to dig’em up and see what they look like!
Yeah I’m anxious to Sandi. After tending the plants all summer it would really blow to not have much in the way of nuts. I need to do some research to find out when to pull them up, but I think it’s just before the first frost. If that’s the case then I still have approx another month before I can see the little jewels. I think that they need to be hung for a period of time after they’re pulled in order for them to dry out or something.
Currently we’re at 17.76 inches since Monday morning and it’s still raining hard. Until the rain began on monday we haven’t had any rain in over a month.
It’s supposed to frost this weekend..I did read that you pull them out after first frost..I don’t know that they’ve been in the ground long enough.
that’s a ton of rain! We had a record breaking summer. But it’s slowed down here..we even had to use the sprinkler on the peppers last month
